Eli Manning benched, Jones to start at QB for the Giants
#1
Somewhat sad, Eli is a good dude. 2 time Super Bowl winner. But he's all washed up, he's got a dead arm. Ownership kept him in the saddle as long as they could, but the coach finally won out.

Reminds me of a movie, Weekend with Bernie, playing over and over ever Sunday for a couple of years.

I assumed they would by at least week 5.  You know, since the Vikings pretty much owned Eli.  He may be a 'good dude' but I won't miss having to look at his pouty face during the games. Smile

Should have happened 2 years ago. He's been done for awhile.

he was never that great to begin with,  he was a chuck and duck QB from day one that has been carried by other aspects of his team.  He is a good person, but I have never liked him since the way his family manipulated the situation to get him to NY.  He was never worth the fuss IMO.

Well, I would say as a long time starting NFL QB, he was good.  Don't think he is HOF material, but a good QB for a long time.
That said, he certainly didn't like getting hit. I remember him just throwing the ball in the dirt so many times when Zimmer's D got after him that one year.

he will get in the HOF for the same reason that so many other undeserving have been enshrined... rings and the media east coast bias.   he is the poster child of a horseshoe QB,  he was bailed out in so many instances by great receivers or running games and typically a pretty decent defense.  he is a good passer, but thats about it IMO.

And having that last name doesn't hurt.... Wink

Not fully getting the Eli hate here, I've got no problem with the guy? Pretty decent career, nothing mind blowing but did win 2 Superbowls.
