Trump’s “strategy of constant escalation and antagonism” has worsened the situation, Roger Johnson, the president of the National Farmers Union, the nation’s second-largest general farmers group, told Bloomberg. Family farmers and ranchers “can’t withstand this kind of pressure much longer,” he added.
Gary Wertish, president of the Minnesota Farmers Union, criticized Trump’s “go-it-alone approach” and the trade war’s “ long-term devastating damage.”
Brian Thalmann, president of the Minnesota Corn Growers Association, attacked Trump for saying farmers were doing “great” again. “We are not starting to do great again,” he said. “We are starting to go down very quickly.”
The agriculture secretary also appeared to indicate that farmers were whining too much, joking, “What do you call two farmers in a basement? A whine cellar.”
The Minnesota Farmers Union responded in a tweet, writing, “Farmers are not ‘whining;’ their ability to make a living is threatened. We won’t stop talking about it until this reckless trade policy stops.”
Keep kidding yourselves about the trade wars, tariffs, and their impact on agricultural markets. Trump has single handedly created an unmitigated disaster for farmers and you boys keep thinking it's going to get better any day now .... when the truth is China called his bluff, walked away, and contracted with other countries. Exactly what reason do they have to come back to the negotiating table? Tariffs on other shit that American consumers will pay? Yeah that's not leverage.
9 out of 10 counties that supported Trump are now getting agricultural welfare bailouts. So much winning by our stable Economic genius!

articles. Maybe it’s just me, but when
an article complains about our markets disappearing and then doesn’t show a
chart of what the market was in the past, and what it is now, I just assume
they don’t know what they’re talking about.
Maybe they have a point, maybe they don’t, but if you want to try and
convince me of something at least cite some data. If you’re already asking this expert what their
opinion is, why not ask what data they used to come to their opinion? How many soybeans haven’t we shipped? What countries are filling the hole we’re
leaving in the market? Do other
countries even have enough soybeans to fill Chinas demand? How much has the price gone down? What other markets are there? Can other suppliers ramp up to fill the
demand or is china just going to have to pay the higher price?

I dont live there anymore. Is twincities.com not a reliable source? Really all I cited from them is that Mr. Wertish leads a left leaning organization. Is that fake news? Ive yet to find a liberal organization that supports Trump which is identical to when conservative organizations didnt support Obama. Its not really news worthy.

Because all you saw and understood was an opinion from one person who has a liberal leaning union, and that disqualifies all the other opinions from heads of numerous agricultural organizations that aren't liberal, thereby giving you the predictable lazy excuse to disqualify the entire article.
