You're right to distrust the media.

You know, I kind of assumed that it was "fake news".  But Snopes doesn't do itself any favors with how it writes its explanations.  It comes across as severely slanted (to the left)- which, in the end- undermines its purpose of trying to sort out what is true and what isn't.  If the "fact-checkers" can't be trusted to be honest and impartial... well, that's how you get to where we are now: people refusing to believe facts... or choosing to believe- as facts- things that aren't true... all because it agrees with their already held predispositions.

So, while you're right... you're also right in a way that you didn't intend (that Snopes, itself, can't be trusted to be honest and impartial).  We ARE right to distrust "the media"- and that includes (at times) even Snopes.  That's why people have to do their own reading... and stop simply trusting the word of people that they agree with.  But that's "work": and we all know where *some* Americans stand on that...

As you no doubt know by now, Pumpf, the truth has a well-known liberal bias.

I dont know about if all of Snopes explanations are left leaning or not but I do know the Snopes itself is run by very left leaning liberals.

The further a society drifts from the truth, the more it will hate those that speak it.

When someone has to force someone to believe something else- absent any forensic evidence (proof) for that "belief"- it's kinda hard to call that "truth".  That is the "truth" that is being espoused by many in our society today.  So, of course, rather than "prove" why their "belief" is "truth"... they simply attack those who refuse to believe it.

Cases in point: liberals denying that an unborn child is "human" (in some cases, they won't even acknowledge that a child that has been born is really a human being)... then they deny that our physiology (including sex organs and chromosomes) determine our sex/gender (instead, a person is- and MUST be viewed- as whatever they think they are at that moment)... and let's not forget global warming (oops, I guess I should've said "climate change"- since the earth isn't warming quite the way that they predicted it would).  Lacking any substantive proof, these are all considered "truth"... and must be accepted without reservation.  Or else.

Maybe society just hates intellectual (which- eventually- turns into physical) fascism?

Funny use of truth...
Many on the other sided would say "the Truth shall set you free" and "the way, the truth..."
So, no truth doesn't have a liberal slant, that would be your bias showing thru.  The truth has truth to it.  Balanced and impartial.
