I think articles like this are the basis for how I stereotype and dismiss the left in general right now and it's why I think the democrats are going to soundly lose the 2020 election.  I see this article as pure propaganda at worst and non-grounded story-telling meant to emotionally trigger people at best.  Obviously it's an opinion piece and not news or anything like that, but I think that's par for the course right now.
We've been living in this weird distorted reality since Trump came into office, where it seems like the Democrats (and the left side of the media's) only goal is to just be anti-Trump.  The left doesn't have any real ideas about anything.  They don't have any policies.  They don't have anything that would make me want to trust them in a leadership position of any sort.  What's your policy on immigration?  Oh, that Trump is evil, so the opposite of that.  got it.  What's your policy on anything economics related?  Oh that Trump is evil so the opposite of that.  got it.  The more time goes on the more people realize the left is hollow and baseless.

I can't support people that are living in an emotionally driven fantasy, where everything is twisted to be an attack on them, everything is Hitler, no facts are needed and we don't need to logically discuss anything.  Tell me what the actual laws are, whether the laws are good and people aren't following them and we need to change the people, or that the laws aren't good enough and people are following them so we should change the laws.  Tell me what your plan is for going forward, and what needs to be changed.  I don't care what you are outraged about, because outrage is hollow.

I'm no Trump fan (the person) by any stretch, but I also see what you mention from the Left.....at least as far as what's projected by social media and the mainstream news regardless of which side they have a bias toward. The outrage over EVERYTHING is ridiculous. They lose credibility with the constant negativity and dark jokes. The Far Right is still a shit show, but the Far Left is not any better. There is no tolerance in the extremes, but that's always been true. 20 candidates for the Democratic debates?? Stupidity. They'll all be yelling over each other for their 10 minutes of air time.

Sticky's comments would echo my own a great deal. The extremes on both sides are distasteful, disrespectful, self-absorbed, self-righteous, wearing on and on... 

I just yearn for someone who echo's my own personal values, has a vision for this county, for humanity, this planet, compassion, respect, reinvigorates and unites.

Maybe that's just asking for way too much anymore...

Obama separated families only when the parents were determined to be a threat to the children or they had to be held pending criminal investigation. No one seems to know how many families were separated but I don't think most reasonable people would have a problem with that policy. The problem is with Trump's racist motivation and zero-tolerance policy which saw the separation of over 2,600 children.
