Exciting player. He looks very dangerous at the first and second level. Shifty, great feet, great vision. He makes great decisions behind the line of scrimmage and often gets one on one against the backend of the defense.

There arent a ton of clips of him taking the top off defenses, but that probably makes his stat line even more impressive when watching his stuff... 1400+ yards and 17 tds, not overly skewed by homerun-runs that wont happen at the NFL level.

Seems like a sharp kid and looks to have a multiplicity of tools.  Lacks "long speed"? Meh...

Best case, this guy is a 1st down machine. I'm excited to see if his game translates.

1700 yards without a lot of explosive runs...grinder...good initial quickness...soft hands...great replacement for Murray...kid is rapidly growing on me...

Vikings selected Boise State RB Alexander Mattison with the No. 102 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.Mattison (5’11/221) turned pro after starting for two of his three seasons at Boise, amassing a career 581/2,829/33 (4.9 YPC) rushing line with 60/511/1 (8.5 YPR) receiving. Not an explosive, big-play back, Mattison ran 4.67 at the Combine and didn’t stand out in the three-cone drill (7.13), and just nine of his 302 carries last season gained 15 yards or more (3%). Mattison’s smooth passing-game skills enhance his outlook, but he is a plodding grinder on the ground. With Latavius Murray gone, Mattison will slot in as the top handcuff to Dalvin Cook,
