Man, if this kid can stay healthy, that will alleviate a LOT of concerns on offense.

I am about to the point where you have to move RB up the draft board.  Not 1st 3 rounds, but its become apparent that we can't count on Cook and a solid prospect added to the mix would be wise Imo.

Injuries happen,  it's part of the game, but with Cooks history (college and pros) to not  have a solid backup plan is inexcusable.

^ i typed something similar a couple times but deleted it without time to expand.

As a 2nd round pick, Cook only has 2 years left on his deal. A RB around the middle of the draft gives us a 1-2, gives us short term insurance and long term if Cook isn't resigned down the road.

There also seems to a be a slew of super talented niche backs that could contribute without being "the guy" in the short term.

No way do you reach, but if a RB is clearly the BPA anytime around round 3 i'm probably game.

Cook missed zero games in college. Did he get dinged during his college career? Sure. Did he miss games? Nope.

No but he did have stretches during games where he was unavailable or unable to finish.

Cook is elite behind an average offensive line. We're well below average unfortunately.

The game logs from college tell a different story.

Dalvin Cook has the ability to be the perfect NFL RB of today's offenses. The issue is its just not worth paying a RB tons of money today on their second contract, even if he's outstanding. He'll be a UFA in 2021, so lets make hay with the kid the next 2 seasons.

He consistently got dinged up, missed a few drives but was back in before the end of the game in college. Sort of like Rhodes has been with the Vikings. Might be an FSU thing. Wink
