Who says no?

Trae Waynes and the 6th round pick #190

to the Cardinals for

their 4th #103, 6th # 179, and a future 2020 5th with no conditions.

Everyone here for sure. [Image: 1f60a.png]

Pretty good though.  Essentially that comp pick that some are
willing to wait until 2021 to get that comes with the added bonus of
doing nothing in free agency next year.

Not me. If you do the trade value math, you're giving away Trae Waynes for a 4th rounder. Should be able to get more than that for Waynes.

The Cardinals are at the top of the 4th round.  That is basically a comp pick.
Getting the extra 5th and moving up in the 6th is good too.
He is in his 5th year and any team trading for him only has the one year.
That cannot be good for his value.
If the Vikings keep him then they have to decide between him and Alexander next year because I do not think they can afford both.

If the Vikings really want some cap relief, it's a decent deal...  but I would rather keep Waynes unless we can get a 2nd round pick for him.

The thing about the first pick in round four is that it has additional value.  Because of the overnight break between founds 3 and 4, a lot of teams will want to move up to the Cardinals' pick in Rd 4 to take a player who slid out of Rd. 3.  It really is a catbird seat for someone like Spielman who would turn that pick into additional picks.

I am not sure you are going to get a second for Waynes because he does only have a year left.  I can see a third.

I say Waynes for Rosen and the Cards 5th round pick.

He's a 26 year old corner with a 1st round pedigree who has improved every year and is only making $9M per--20th in the NFL. That will get you more than what you have here.
