I think this was a good move for the Browns - their offense looked much improved, and this keeps the same Offense helping the young gun to continue growing into the position. Offensive Continuity.

Well now its time for him to prove that he really knows his shit on offense. Will be interesting to see if he will be among the hot shot O-coordinators with an innovative high octane offense that will put up 30+ points consistently. We can only hope that happens!!

Is it too much to ask that Cleveland be our bitch one more time here?

It is the best option in my opinion. We are kinda in that coaching limbo. Zimmer has to win next year to get another. Continuity will be important towards doing that. Again...imo.
Sure others wanted to blow it all up and start fresh. That really wasn't an choice for me. If we fail next year it's time.

Im much more confident we make the playoffs next year then I was this year. How many wins do yall think Zimmer needs to keep his job?  8-8, 10-6?  A playoff win? Super Bowl?

Playoff I think are a must. If at the end of year 6 you only have 2 appearances and 1 win you are not doing your job. So that said is a wild card and a one and done enough? I say no but it's not my team. I like Zimmer but I'm not enamored by his personality or results so far.
Playoffs or bust. One playoff win security is probably assured. I would have no problem with him getting a new contract then.

If Zimmer was a younger man I would be willing to give him a lot of rope the way that the Steelers do with their coaches. But he isn't and as you say two playoff appearances and one playoff win..... I guess I don't see why he gets so much love from Viking fans. The fact is that the guy just isn't getting it done. I think early on there were so many callbacks in people's minds to Bud Grant that people genuinely want him to be the coach. But he's no Bud Grant. Maybe Stefanski is the worth looking at as a potential future head coach?

Funny you say that...I had the same fleeting thought this week.

Younger, offensive minded, familiar with players, ownership, culture etc. Heir apparent may be right in the bldg now?

He'll have to prove himself worthy of that here and he'll get the opportunity this season.

Depends on how the Zimmer era ends too:

Crash & Burn and The Wilf's clean house?
Heir apparent after a successful end of tenure?
Somewhere in between??
