Ok so what does this game say about Cousins

This is not how you want the season to end. And we all know that the OL is putrid but Cousins did not show up. Or maybe he did but his performance was unacceptable.

He did not step up today. I still think there are things that can be done to make the offense around him better, but I would have liked to see more from him today.

It says without a really good oline he is not going to beat the better teams.  Against weaker competition the last two weeks we ran up the score.   But against the good teams (and Buffalo for some reason) we look somewhat lost.

He is not elite like Brady/Brees, so you are going to have to put pieces around him that help him win.   He is more of a 2nd tier qb.  But it didn't take today's game to know that, it should have been known to the organization when they signed him and they should have approached things accordingly.

As I have been saying for years....VP's, GM's and HC's are ultimately judged by their teams' RECORD.

Good "intentions" mean Jack Schitt. I don't care if you "meant well" making a particular personnel move....did it result in playoff success? If not, I do NOT applaud you for your fucking "effort". EFFORT is a MINIMUM EXPECTATION when your annual salary has 6 zeros.

It's ALL about results, and Ricky, Mikey and Kirky all FAILED miserably this year. Wash, rinse, repeat for ALL of them.

I don't want to hear any bullshit about "next year" from these serial chokers. SHOW ME NEXT SEASON and then we can resume this conversation in December 2019/January 2020. Until then, EVERYONE  in the  Vikings organization needs to STFU, admit you shit the bed, AGAIN, and PROVE to the fans you're as good as you THINK you are by ACTUALLY WINNING PLAYOFF GAMES!
That is a radical concept, I know, but believe it or not, that is how history classifies/remembers GREAT teams.

I did not for a second think he was elite. But he has at least 2 more years so they definitely need more pieces specifically the OL. I am sick and tired of 3 and outs.

It will take more than a year, with a meteoric qb coach designing the next new offensive innovations, for me to loose faith.  Kirk has the tools, it will be an organization thing that takes it too the next level.  GB had the luck with two franchise qb's in a row, NE has Beichick/Brady synergy. Hell I wore the same tube socks for Bud' s run. I'll  hang with the direction we are going.

Kirk is not a Rodgers, Brady or Brees.  But he's better than many other touted QB's sitting home for the next few weeks.

As to this stat 4-22 or whatever against winning teams, he's played on some very crappy teams in D.C.  And all this was well documented during his team shopping spree.

But just like the Pukers need to get Rodgers more weapons for him to get back to invincible status, we need to get Kirk a mass of humanity to keep him upright. Scrimping on O linemen is not an option.

It tells me I was right about him not being a good fit for this team at the time.  I knew he'd struggle behind a bad O line.  But as the season went along, it appeared he struggled to connect with his teammates... to build chemistry, and a little of that boiled over tonight.  He's got two years left for the org to figure out to make it work.  I'm also a little concerned about his deep ball accuracy as well but I'm sure people will put that on his Oline too... even when he had plenty of time to throw.
