Anyone kinda hoping that we don't make the playoffs this year?

It's shocking to me that we are still the #6 seed and in control of our own destiny.  However, I really don't want to endure another week of frustration at the end of the season as the team gets their asses kicked in front of a national TV audience again.  It's obvious the team isn't going anywhere this year, so I think I'd prefer they miss the playoffs, get a higher pick, and let me enjoy 2019 and the playoffs stress free. Smile

if they arent going to make any changes to what they have been doing then I kind of wish it would end now.

honestly Flip has had 13 games to show that he isnt in over his head and he really hasnt at any time had me thinking that we have something in him.  maybe a glimpse here or there of offense,  but over all this year has been offensive.

if they can make some changes (Stephanski) and it looks like it has sparked something then hell yes let go as long as we can,  the experience will be a good building block for next year if it looks like the change will be a positive one.... otherwise we are just burning draft position.

I still want the playoffs. I don't care if I know there's no chance. Because there is that chance, however slim. I play the lotto 2x a week. There's no chance...if I don't play at all that is.
Really it's bigger then chance no chance it's a goal. Every team has the goal of making the playoffs and maybe winning it all. 20 teams will fail in that goal. It's always better to be one of the 12 that still have a shot at the end. However slim it is.

What I'm hoping is that Zim decides that since Flip will be gone it's time for Stef to audition for the role and turns play calling over to him.  Stef turns out to be good enough play to our strengths and develop not just a play book but also a game plan where plays called in the first quarter set up plays called later in the game. The D then stops feeling it must score for us to win and stops gambling and getting out of their lanes. We win our last 3 games and ride that momentum to win 3 road playoff games and then the Superbowl.
That's what I'm putting in my letter to Santa.

I don't think they make the playoffs.  They'll lose at least two of the next three, and maybe all three.  If they get in great, but I don't expect they will.  This offense is clueless, and has zero leadership or direction.

Make the playoffs and then what? One and done. What's the point of that? Maybe the rest of the season should be time to test different things and audition for next year.

Fuck that...  you always want to make the playoffs.  Once you make it in, you have a shot...  and who knows...  maybe Stefanski can unlock the potential in this offense.
If the Vikings can start playing some complimentary football and the offense gets rolling, we still have a team capable of winning it all.  Look at the Packers back in 2010...  ripped off 3 or 4 straight wins to make it in as the final WC and the next thing you know, they are hoisting the Lombardi Trophy.  I think the Steelers did that shortly thereafter as well.
Never say die.

I will say, I am coming around to your train of thought since I posted this poll earlier today.  Especially with a new OC, at least something will hopefully finally change with the offense.  We need some creativity in the play-calling to mask our major deficiency in the middle of our O line.  Plus, it will give us a good look at Stefanski as offensive coordinator before the off-season.  That, if nothing else, gives me a little hope and a reason to watch.

I was pretty frustrated this morning after the shit-show our offense put on last night.
