Anthony Barr stat line last night, season totals
#1
Barr's stats last night:   1 Tackle.

Season stats:  30 total tackles, 1 Forced fumble, 0 sacks, 0 INT's, 2 Passes Defensed, 3 TFL's.

Packers Fackrell, Also 6'5 and 245 lbs. drafted end of Round 3 has 8 sacks this season.

Thoughts?   Is it scheme, or is it player?   For a Top 10 pick, yikes.

Oh I agree.  That being said, he's in a contract year ... what if that ingredient wants $10-$12 million a year next season - what do you do?  You only have so much for the bag of groceries, would you still keep Barr if you have to cut out the eggs (say Richardson) or can't afford the butter (a top FA O-lineman)?

Personally if it comes down to money I'd let him walk.  Draft a LB or get one in FA, I don't think it would be hard to get the same production from someone cheaper (soy milk alternative lol).

Or...do the Vikings have to just make a decision and slam the door? How about offer Barr a decent, but not top ten, multi-year contract...and if he wants to explore other options, let him take some FA visits. Other teams look at stats, too - are we really convinced there is a team that believes Anthony Barr will step into their 3-4 scheme and turn into Von Miller?? I don't. I think he'll get offered some very cautious deals, 1-year prove-its and not likely for $10M. Now, maybe I'm wrong, we'll see.
Of course, I thought we could do the same with Bridgewater (let him test the waters), and he signed on day 1. But IMO that was an emotional decision.

I have said many times I would not resign Barr.  I really don't think he's that good.  Just because a player is drafted in the first round doesn't automatically make him someone you should just throw money at.  I really thought the defense did just fine with him out injured and I'm sure they can find another guy to fill his not so spectacular shoes.

This is where I'm at with him.  Offer him fair money,  but not the kind of money that I'm betting he thinks he's worth.  If somebody makes a better offer then it wasn't meant to be.  Watch the pukes come after him.

Agree, especially with the disappearing act so far this year.
