Report: Dalvin Cook could be out until after the bye week
#1
Not looking good. I didn't realize that if they used the hamstring muscle to repair the torn ACL it can have lasting side effects that may be causing the constant setbacks. There are a ton of articles on this subject if you Google it.

Dalvin "Bust" Cook. This guy has all the makings of a bust who cannot make it on the field for a full season. What ever his strong point is, he can't revel it standing on the sidelines. The Vikings need to start bring up Boone and Thomas faster than expected and start looking toward the future .

The first few years of Robert Smith's career starting out was horrible.  Knee surgeries and a couple of other medical issues added in.  But in the long run, he was a hell of a running back.

Latavious Murry has looked great in his absence.  I like Cook's upside but I'd rather see him rested and effective vs pushed and a non factor.

One in a thousand. Far more injury-plagued RBs just fizzle away like Michael Bennett. Smith was lame his first four years; these days, a player couldn't stay on a roster that long.

If Cook doesn't show, this team better not count on Mike Boone and Roc Thomas. We all fall much too in love with guys just because they wear Vikings jerseys - Boone and Thomas were marginal college prospects who have shown very little.

I remember I really liked that Cook kid we had early last season.
I wish we had him.

Is Murray under contract after this season? If not maybe at some point we start thinking about offering him a new deal.

He was until they redid his deal to clear some cap space to allow them to do a few contracts for this year.  Now he's a free agent after this season.
