#1
Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen expects Brian Robison will play again in the NFL, but Robison isn’t tipping his hand.  :o  :o

Brian's leadership qualities alone made him such a huge asset to the team...but he can still play. I'm just very disappointed. I would have much rather have kept BRob than someone like Sherels, for example.

They kept too many running backs.

Agreed...I like Roc Thomas, but how much will he see the field? Cook and Murray will eat up probably 95% of the snaps....and he'll be sharing that 5% with Boone and sometimes maybe even Ham.

Straight up dick move by Spielman.  Pay cut, pay cut and then cut.  Suppose he will want to bring him back week 2 so his pay isn't guaranteed.

thats what  I keep wondering about.... but that in itself would be yet another dick move.  if they wanted to do that they should have cut Sherels and Sendejo and really cleared some guaranteed cap space.

And as much as I want him back for one more run, if you were him, would you come back without the guarantee?

I honestly dont know if I would come back at all.  I think I would reach out to a division rival or one of the other NFC contenders and see if there is any interest.  considering he was calling plays on the field for the defense last year and was in camp until the end... his knowledge alone could be worth millions to the right team.  I am sure that some fans would get pissy if he did this,  but any loyalty he had for the franchise should be lost when they cut his pay 2 years running and then kept inferior players over him in what he had announced as his final season.  they basically took away his retirement party... or his chance to say goodbye to the fans on his terms.

Scary when you think of it that way.  And yes, Chad got his last season and honestly wasn't the player Brian still is.  We have no proven depth now and lost a general on the field.

I agree, but doesn't Coach Zimmer share some of the blame of BRob's release?  I would think the head coach decides what players are on the team or not.
