Anyone Impressed By Defacto GM Chucky?
#1
It's pretty obvious McKenzie has been pushed to a figure head role and the most annoying man formerly on TV is calling all the shots. Traded one of the top 3 defenders in the NFL without ever speaking a single word to him...gives up a third for Martavous Bryant, a known problem child, then doubles down and cuts him...overdrafts Kolton Miller...McKenzie had almost singlehandedly rebuilt that roster (which used to be the laughingstock of the league) into a competitive team...Mark Davis is going down the same path as his father without the benefit of being senile...

Word is he likes to 'date players but not marry them'. Not entirely sure what that means, but maybe he has a plan. Or probably more likely, he has a very bad plan.

I would say the bears and their fans are pretty happy with what chucky has done thus far....not to mention the chiefs, chargers, and broncos teams and fan bases.

Nope but not surprised. Plus he has been out of football for so long as far as coaching is concerned. In regard to the date and not marry comment, he likes to test them out but not commit. They are expendable toys to him. When a player is shiny and new, he is excited. When the thrill is gone, he moves on. He strikes me as someone who gets bored easily.

Get rid of one of the best players in the league; don't get much for him (2 firsts but they sent back a second); give up a 3rd for receiver with multiple suspensions and questionable attitude . . . then have to cut him because he does not practice or learn the playbook.  Not an impressive start so far. I think the Raiders will take a step back this season.

This is how he rolls. He likes his old teams. The team he assembled in Oakland in 2001 was old. They went to the Super Bowl the year he left and played his new team the Bucs. Then he started bringing in old and questionable talent to Tampa. His Oakland team collapsed as did his other one the Bucs. I believe they have one playoff appearance between them since. He might produce short term success. I wouldn't be surprised if it was followed by 12 years of failure after he's gone again. 10 years out and his strategy hasn't changed.
