David Parry a Vike

According to Ian Rappoport - David Parry (former Colt and Saints DL) has signed with the Vikes

Very interesting. He's a decent talent. Only 26 years old and tough. 6'2", 320+ lbs. But he's been bad off the field. Lots of upside if he gets his shit together. He's straight up nasty in attitude if his head is on straight. Built like a bowling ball. Could backup Joseph. Extremely low center of gravity. Good luck rooting him out when he anchors.

Sounds like good competition for Jaleel Johnson behind Joseph. Started all 16 games for the Colts two years in a row before injuries and off-field tomfoolery started.

Lotta college highlights here.

Love this pick up. We now have a real back up NT to give Joseph some rest.

Perry - Johnson

Feels much better than last year’s 4 DTs. Deeper, flexible, fresher

wow... we have a HELL of a DL that we can keep fresh. This D unit is going to be scary. if we can keep healthy we are going to be vicious on both O and D.
We have talent and depth on both sides. The biggest issue we have is our RG/LG issue but we have returning starters that we can use. It may not be all-star talent, but we have potential on the OL that fits our scheme. We have a heck of a team.

How does a guy go from playing every game for 2 yrs. with the Colts to getting waived the next yr.? Sounds like a class A turd.

Probably so...as long as he shits on the other teams.

I'm surprised we didn't wait until he was sentenced in a couple of weeks, just in case he gets a judge in a bad mood.

On February 25, 2017, Parry was arrested in Scottsdale, Arizona on suspicion of robbery, auto theft, criminal damage, resisting arrest and DUI charges. He was later charged with felony robbery, felony unlawful use of transportation and misdemeanor threats. On April 26, 2017, he pled guilty one count each of disorderly conduct and attempted unlawful means of transportation. Sentencing was set for May 31, 2017; he is expected to be sentenced to supervised probation.[

The dude got arrested for stealing a golf car taxi and crashing it and then being a disorderly drunk.

He avoided jail time and got two years probation.

He was cut last year in he final cut downs by the Colts.  They had signed Johnathan Hankins as a free agent which likely made Parry expendable.

His arrest probably did not help him out too much either.

He is pretty smart though.  He went to Stanford for 5 years and was All Academic 1st team his senior year.

He just made a bad mistake by drinking too much.  Not uncommon.

Stealing the golf cart taxi is uncommon though.  Smile

Still, he seems to be a very good kid who just got too drunk that night.

I suspect there are some personal conduct clauses in this contract.
