... to see who the Vikings pick in the 2nd round tonight. I might die of laughter if we trade out of the round completely...
Who would you like the Vikings to select in the 2nd round? Feel free to drop some names and why you think they'd be a good pick... I'll add mine in a bit.
Crosby. I like his fight and think he can win the RT job. But if he loses he can slide in at RG.

It will be very interesting to see what they do. I think if it's a guard, then the Vikings screwed up. They passed on several very highly regarded guards so they could draft a 4th corner. I know there's a lot of retro-justification going on, but there's no two ways around that.
So I tend to agree with TBro when he says the Vikings may fully intend to move Remmers inside. And if that's the case, then there's a very legit reason why they didn't draft OL in the 1st: they don't need a guard, and there were no tackles of any value there.
I was hoping for Joe Noteboom in the 3rd, but now I see that he's the highest rated tackle on the board at NFL.com. He may not last to the 3rd considering the terrible depth at that position. There are a few tackles who probably would be better at guard (Crosby) and a few sleeper tackle candidates (Parker). But in my opinion, Joe's the only remaining tackle of note. BOOM!

This was PFF's rankings as of April 23rd. Clearly this order is very questionable in ranking, but it at least gives a nice list to look at for possible picks in 2 or 3. I removed Kolton Miller's profile.
Nobody has mentioned Jamarco Jones. Is he a legitimate prospect? He seems very light at 299lbs as a tackle.
2. CONNOR WILLIAMS, TEXASScrap Williams’ injury-riddled 2017 tape and go back to his sophomore year. That season he was utterly dominant and allowed only four pressures all season. Not many true sophomores are capable of the level of play we saw from Williams in 2016, as he flashed all the tools necessary to be a high-level tackle in the NFL.
3. JAMARCO JONES, OHIO STATEJones wins the award for prettiest pass sets in the entire class. That’s even more encouraging considering how little Ohio State’s offense asked him to take true pass sets. He’s already NFL ready in that regard and has improved every season of his college career.
4. TYRELL CROSBY, OREGONCrosby is arguably the most physical tackle in the entire class. He’s also another player who has done it on both the left and right side in the college ranks. Crosby’s not going to win any awards for his athleticism, and could ultimately end up at guard, but he’s an easy projection as a run-blocker.
5. ORLANDO BROWN, OKLAHOMABrown has more reps on tape that make you say ‘wow’ than any offensive tackle in this class. He quite simply engulfs defensive linemen on a regular basis. He may struggle with speed at times, but he’s impervious to the bull-rush with his size and length (didn’t allow a single bull-rush pressure all year).
6. BRIAN O’NEILL, PITTSBURGHO’Neill is a terrific athlete for the position and possesses some of the best mirroring ability in the entire class. His punch and play strength are lacking at the moment though, and it’s concerning how poorly he performed Senior Bowl week. While there, he won only 27 percent of his reps in 1-on-1 practice.
7. Kolton Miller-Oakland Raiders8. WILL RICHARDSON, N.C. STATERichardson took a huge step forward in 2017 and allowed only five pressures all season long and never more than one in a single game at right tackle for the Wolfpack. Richardson has a handful of off-field issues that could drop him down boards, though, including a DUI as a freshman and a two-game suspension for marijuana this past season.
9. GERON CHRISTIAN, LOUISVILLELouisville did Christian no favors by having him flip from left tackle to right tackle in each game depending on the play call. That cross-training though could come in handy in the NFL.
10. MARTINAS RANKIN, MISSISSIPPI STATERankin is one of the few extremely long-armed tackles who already knows how to utilize that length advantage properly. His slow feet could cause a rocky transition to the NFL however and he allowed 18 pressures on only 247 pass-blocking snaps this past season.
11. CHUKWUMA OKORAFOR, WESTERN MICHIGANOkorafor is nothing more than a projection at this point. His size, length and athleticism scream NFL tackle, but his technique and physicality leave a lot to be desired. One would expect a tackle of his caliber to dominant against the competition Okorafor faced, but that was all too infrequently the case.
12. DESMOND HARRISON, WEST GEORGIAHarrison’s movement skills jump off the tape immediately when you watch him. He’s a tad undersized though and will see a huge leap in competion coming from West Georgia.
13. ALEX CAPPA, HUMBOLDT STATEAnother small school tackle who pops off the tape. Cappa however, does so because of his impressive technique rather than pure athleticism.
14. TONY ADAMS, NC STATEAdams has impressed as a pass-protector in his time at NC State. The past two seasons he’s allowed all of 17 pressures.
15. ZACHARY CRABTREE, OKLAHOMA STATECrabtree is one of the rare college tackle who is already technically proficient in pass protection, allowing all of 12 pressures this past season.
16. JEROMY IRWIN, COLORADOIrwin was very productive in his four seasons at Colorado, improving in grading every single year. He’s far too easily knocked off balance though and is undersized for a tackle.
17. JOSEPH NOTEBOOM, TCUNoteboom fits what the NFL is looking for from a size and athletcism standpoint, but was far too often exposed in pass protection in college.
18. TOBY WEATHERSBY, LSUWeathersby is an ox whose best position is likely guard at the next level. In a phone booth, he can look dominant, but when he has to play on the move it’s far less pretty.
19. ZACK GOLDITCH, COLORADO STATEWith three straight years of grades in the 84.0 to 86.0 range, Golditch is worth a look in the late rounds. He ranked 10th in the draft class with a pass-blocking efficiency of 98.2 last season.
Those are bizarre rankings. I like Connor Williams more than most, but I think most teams see him as a guard. Same with Jamarco. Brian O'Neill is a great athlete, but will need a ton of coaching. Geron Christian should be higher, could very well be the next tackle taken. And as I've said, Joseph Noteboom is severely underrated. Still, should be a lot higher than this.
Im hoping for a 5’ 6”, 4.6 fourty cornnerback with an injury history and maybe a few battered women left behind. Maybe even throw in a few kidsfrom different women and someone who kneels for the anthem.
TBro , if I'm Rick (actually more of a Negan guy myself) I double dip off this list.
Best case scenario you get your RT and the other guy competes with Remmers and Izzy at RG.
Worst case Remmers and Hill are the RT competition in TC and the two new guys compete for RG.
That's my analytics take.
The guys I have my eyes on are offensive linemen. Austin Corbett, Connor Williams, or Tyrell Crosby. I would be happy with any of these guys...
However, if we bypass the OL... I would love to get Dallas Goedert at TE or Lorenzo Carter at LB. Both are big physical specimens and great athletes.

Well, we have the second pick in the 4th round...
I'm looking hard at Sweat... he could be a dynamic pass rusher if Patterson gets his hands on him.
I'm kinda hoping Rick trades a couple of those 6th round picks and get another 4th rounder. By having 2 fourth round picks, might get some value players.
