NFL.com ranks Spielman as 8th best GM.

I think that's fair. He's done some good things and also made some poor decisions. He has seemed to learn from his mistakes which is really all you can ask. Neglecting the OLine for as long as he did is the one thing that he deserves the most blame for. Last year's additions, and what we will do in the draft this year should definitely help solidify our line for a long time. Getting Cousins and Richardson were huge wins which he and the organization deserve a lot of credit for.

Definitely on the up swing.  Rick has been doing a great job.  2016 draft may have been a hiccup, so let's hope for a strong 2018 draft.

If Cousins finally solves the QB issue, he'll move up.

We're #8! We're #8!

Yah, that left me a bit unsatisfied too....

Agree if he can finally hit on QB he'll move up, and more importantly the team may get to it's 1st SB in over 40 years.

Spielman sure was more aggressive this year than any other years prior.  Before, you wouldn't even hear of any free agents picked up by Minnesota until the ending of the free agency period and those players were usually 2nd tier ones at that.
Good Job Ricky for taking the plunge and pursing Cousins and Richardson.

Elway ahead of Spielman is a joke. There's a rumor going around Denver that Elway liked QBs who were just like him and that's why he picked the big, strong armed Osweiler and Lynch. He's letting Kubiak make those decisions now, and apparently Kubiak likes QBs who are just like him, thus Case Keenum.

Elway won a Super Bowl not too long ago and that is weighing too heavy in his favor. But what bold moves did he make to achieve that? He signed Peyton Manning and drafted Von Miller. Yeah, real strokes of genius there. Manning was one of the all-time greats who only wanted to go to Denver. And Von Miller was a can't miss #2 overall pick. But by and large, his drafts have been littered with an incredible amount of busts, especially on the offensive side:  Brock Osweiler, Montee Ball, Cody Latimer, Ty Sambrailo, Paxton Lynch...too early to call Garett Bolles a bust, but he will be soon.

Bold prediction: Spielman will be at the top of this list next year.

He did move pretty quickly on Riley Rieff last year (Remmers was also signed early on).  But yeah, he was very aggressive this year and it worked out well.

A lot of credit goes to the cap management and thr ownership group. Ive been surprised at ability and desire to go after free agents.

When the Wilfs bought the team they said they were dedicated to building a Superbowl team but every owner says that.  They put their money were their mouth is.
