Does anybody that's near my age honestly believe our Vikings will win a super bowl before we start wearing depends? Let's hear the responses from old farts like myself.
I'm 51 and will be 52 in August.......

It's rare for me to have this feeling before free agency and the draft, but 2018 is looking pretty freaking stellar. Cook coming back. Our QB situation is "which of these awesome quarterbacks are we going to sign?" The defense last year was historically good.
We have solid depth and $60M in cap space to improve the team. It's happening. It's happening soon.

Thank you, Steve. When you're in the older generation and have seen it all, you kinda give up. You know how that goes. lol

I'm your generation, in my 50's too...Was a young impressionable lad when we last won a CG in 1977. I would have called you nuts if you would have told me I'd still be waiting 41 years later. Not when SuperBowl's and NFC dominance were the norm.
I feel for the generations of franchise fans who never got to experience it, even the hurt of 0/4 in the big game. But getting there? Damn near priceless. To answer your question directly? Yah, I believe it'll happen before my maker calls me home. But I ain't holding my breath anymore. Still buying season tix while I can afford them and healthy to go to games (knock wood). I've also learned over time its just a game and much more to life to be present for each day. But it still would be fun as hell to win it all one year.

Thank you purplefaithful, it's nice to see some of us old-timers having faith still.

I remember as a kid when we'd go Christmas shopping every year, especially in the old "Zayre Shoppers City" stores and we'd be glued to the display tv's of the old "Purple People Eaters" on those tv's. I miss those days!! Any body still remember "Zayre Shoppers City?"

just turned 52 myself. Vikes fan since i was 5.
if we dont win one under Zimmer, I honestly dont think we win the big one before i die.

I don't think we'll win one, but I don't care. They're my team, and I'll watch 'em anyway. I'll only believe they'll win it, when I see it. If winning a SB was a requirement to be a Vikings fan, then I guess we'd all be pretty much screwed by now. B)

I am 49 and turning the big 50 in August. Growing up in Washington, did not get to see the Vikings much, but remember seeing them on Monday night football one time and that was all it took - they were my team. Tarkington running around throwing the ball all over the field and the helmets - damn - I was sold. One of my favorite games watched was the "Mud" Bowl with LA. It was just like my friends and I running around in a muddy pasture, playing tackle football. I do believe that I will see multiple Vikings SB victories before I kick the can. Have always enjoyed the ride, but honestly, when things started going well for the team, somewhere, deep in my being, comes an alarm of some pending catastrophic collapse. I can't help that - side effects of being a Viking fan as others have alluded to. That said, one day, the anticipated collapse will not occur and we will all not know what to do with ourselves!
