Big Bang! Sheldon Will Not Get Tagged
#1
NFL network reporting that Richardson will not be tagged...enormously talented...get him with Dre, Griffen, and Brob and watch him flourish...

Not tagged, but the word is that Seattle is going after him HARD to stay and sign. Might not make it to FA. The dude just turned 27 years old and he's a freak....but motivation issues.

Would love to see it, but my guess is there are other FA priorities they'll try and hit.

Richardson is going to be expensive.

Tim Jernigan signed a 4 yr 48 mil deal in 2017.
Michael Brockers signed a 3 yr 33 deal mil in 2016.
Jurell Casey signed a 4 yr 50 mil deal in 2017.

spotrac is guesstimating his value to be about 12 mil per year.

I like DaQuan Jones who they might be able to sign for 6 mil or so.
Get him and bring back Shamar Stephen or sign Jay Bromley and then you have some players to rotate.

There are times when the money just makes sense. Team on the verge with $57M in cap space and a hole at 3T. In terms of raw talent, probably the best 3T in the NFL after Donald, and he's available? I think I go for that.

Kind of a blockhead, but I can see Zimmer and the character of this DL having a big impact on him. We might even be able to sign him short term. He can easily get more money after a year or two with this defense.

I don't think money will be a concern if they make a run at Richardson. There aren't many great interior pass rushing prospects in this years class. There is a deep D-line pool but not many true 3-techs. I think the Vikings would be anxious to cross that off their list early motivational issues or not.

so would it boil down to a case of Cousins or Richardson,  or do you think they could swing both and still have the coin to take care of their own?

If Case can be had for nearly 10 mil less than Cousins, they could use that savings towards Richardson.  Personally, I rather see them sign Case and Richardson than just Cousins.

I really do hope they can get some help with the interior pass rush.  It was the glaring weakness; especially towards the end of the season and into the playoffs.

That's for sure.  Both lines fell apart at the end of the season unfortunately.

I sign Sam, Teddy and Richardson. Then draft a RT and move Remmers to RG. We don't overpay for anyone, we solidified both lines and and we keep the most talented QBs on our roster.

you sure you arent ready to change your political affiliation,  because you are thinking more and more like me everyday.  :p     I doubt Price would actually be there when we pick,  but I do like him over any RT that would be available and I would then leave Remmers at RT for another year.  other than that... like we share a brain.  B)
