The Vikings are expected to wait until next week before an announcement on a replacement for Pat Shurmur, Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press reports.
Coach Mike Zimmer interviewed Darrell Bevell, Kevin Stefanski, Sean Ryan and Dan Campbell at his ranch in Kentucky. Campbell, currently the Saints assistant head coach/tight ends coach, was the last to interview. He completed his interview Tuesday.
The Vikings are seeking to replace Pat Shurmur, who took the Giants’ head coaching job.
Bevell, 48, has the most experience as a play caller. He spent five years as the Vikings’ offensive coordinator and six in the same position with the Seahawks.
Seattle fired him after the 2017 season.
Stefanski currently serves as the Vikings’ quarterbacks coach.

Yeah, I saw this: why would they wait if they've interviewed everyone that they planned on interviewing? Unless they aren't done yet, obviously.....

Pressure and Noise

players ran out of gas after that emotional saints game and lost focus.  the noise on offense combined with the pressure that the iggles D brought had Case mentally scrambled.  I dont think the D had the same step after Case threw that pick 6,  a guy can only take so many gut punches before he raises his arms to try and get his air back.

some coaches likely lost focus and didnt see the changes that needed to be made.  I dont know what the game plan was for sure,  maybe Griff has been doing what he was supposed to do,  but he really didnt play consistent enough down the stretch to not have been spelled by others more often.  There are some others as well that likely needed to be replaced more than they were.  The defense was just playing shell shocked and the coaches didnt see it.

IMO we win that game by 3 scores if it was at home.  next year we cant lose home games to detroit.  we are a good team,  but not good enough to give away home field advantage by losing games we should win.

Good points.  IMO we got taken by the double moves.  Foles simply hadn't thrown down the field and so our game plan was to stop the short stuff, the easy RPO passes that were where they made their hay with Foles.  Our game plan was working initially.  We stopped them on their first drive.  But after the pick 6 brought life back to them and the crowd, they took some chances and caught us biting on the double moves.

Think of the TD to Jefferys when Rhodes was out.  Newman bit hard on a short route.  Harrison smith did the same on Ertz (?)

Couple that with the emotion and letdown.  Our team was riding high, but that is dangerous if the emotion leaves like it did after the pick 6.

that saints game was an emotional ass ripping,  even though we won,  IMO that took a lot out of the team.   kicking their ass only to see it slip away,  getting the lead back only once again to lose it, and then ripping victory out of the jaws of defeat.... just makes me tired thinking about it.

I wouldn't be upset with this choice.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/01/31/vikings-may-interview-john-defilippo/

The guy who helped light up the best defense in the NFL during the postseason may soon be running that team’s offense. As the Vikings search for a new offensive coordinator, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports that the Vikings may interview Eagles quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo after Super Bowl LII.
DeFilippo’s name has come up in connection with various vacancies over the past month, including the Cardinals’ head-coaching job. His contract expires after the season, making him free to take a coordinator position with another team. (If he were still under contract, the Eagles could block the move — as they did a year ago.)
The Vikings have interviewed several candidates for the vacancy created when Pat Shurmur became head coach of the Giants, including former Vikings and Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell. Vikings president Mark Wilf said Wednesday, via Tomasson, that interviews may continue after Sunday’s NFL title game.
The position of offensive coordinator in Minnesota is an attractive one, given that coach Mike Zimmer essentially surrenders the keys to the coordinator. With a solid year or two of running the offense, DeFilippo could position himself for a head-coaching job of his own.
