We had numerous opportunities to interview Case Keenum 1-on-1 in training camp. We passed every time. He and Taylor Heinicke (who we did interview) were the only QBs available for 1-on-1s with the media.
Why did we pass on Case? Because during the 5 days we were there, he performed more poorly than the other 2 QBs who were healthy. At one point, we even wondered aloud, if he would even make the final 53 or would, perhaps be the 3rd team QB until Bridgewater was healthy.
Shows how little football acumen we really have.
We did notice that after practices he always met his wife and rode off with her in a golf cart. Seemed like a nice guy, but we didn't actually interact with him until after the Monday night game in Chicago. At that point, we realized he was pretty unassuming and normal, but we never could have predicted his success.
