That would help make the decision on where Keenum fits in.

Wow,  did shelter think of this all on his own or did he read our threads from thanksgiving time?

I really wonder how long he will string these teams along?  If we keep winning how many teams will wait for him to make a decision or how many will move onto another candidate?

Bovada has Shurmur as the 3 to 1 co-favorite for the Bears job, those fuckers will lay odds on anything!  Wink

The line is as sure to change as the Chicago wind, but currently, Vikings OC Pat Shurmer and Chiefs OC Matt Nagy are the 3-1 co-favorites, according to Bovada.

If I'm Pat Shurmuer I'm trying for the Arizona Job or Detroit job, otherwise I stay put and go after the Houston job next year.

I think this makes sense in the sort of logic that is used on mock drafts, where you line up some guys that match needs and just go from there, but I don't think the logic is really that robust if you were really trying to predict what will happen.

The bottom line is that the Vikings can always franchise Keenum if they think that it's a risk.  It's not like Shumur can just steal Keenum (or Bradford or Bridgewater) away.  If you were Keenum, you'd really have to weigh the financial packages provided by both teams.  Most players will take more money over a better situation.  With regards to situations.  All the teams that have fired their coaches are in a worse situation than the Vikings, so they would be more risky positions for the longevity of Case's starting career.  He'd have to put a lot of faith in Shurmur to rectify those situations.  From a pure numbers perspective, only the Cardinals and Giants really have starting QB openings, so if Shurmur went anywhere else, it would be very unlikely for Case to follow him.

I'm almost surprised he didn't say he'll take both Keenum and Edwards with him to Chicago.  I guess that's maybe a bit too much shit to throw at the wall.

why would he be allowed to take Edwards?  unless Edwards contract is up the only way he gets to leave is if its an upward move,  I dont think coordinators can be poached and kept at the same tier.

Edwards contract is up at the end of the year. The Vikings want him back, but Shurmur would have the opportunity to bring him if he wanted to.
