After the game, I got to go onto the field with a group of season ticket holders. It was fun to take a bunch of pictures but also mingle with some pretty cool fans. Some were making angels on the field, some were laying on the Norseman logo and others were playing football. We were like kids at Christmas. It was fun to walk the field and get a sense of how much give the field turf has. It's a lot different than the Metrodome, where the turf was like that artificial grass/turf/carpet that you could buy at Home Depot slapped over concrete. And it certainly wasn't like the rock hard ground at the old Met Stadium. It has such bounce to it. And when you see a player slide and it looks like black dust, up close and personal, I got to see what those actual fibers look like. We talked about the hopes for the playoffs and shared stories about our fandom. Of course there were observations of the game just played and check-ins on other game scores. I watched multiple generations of fans taking it all in and it was a whole lot of fun. One of my favorites was a charming older gentleman all decked out in a purple suit sharing his memories. He was funny and had a crowd gathered around him. It was such a moment of pure, unadulterated joy.
