Fan starts petition calling for removal of NFL official

“As a Falcons fan, I have watched the NFL wrong our franchise for many years but more importantly as a fan of this league I believe that all of us could benefit from the immediate removal of Morelli and every one of his crew members to send a message to NFL officials that corruption within the officiating group will not be tolerated.

The petition creator intends to send the signatures to commissioner Roger Goodell and request the removal of Morelli and his crew.

“Morelli has some sort of favoritism towards certain teams and has a personal vendetta against others. We have to do something about this to protect the game and to ultimately do away with corruption. If you feel compelled to sign this, I encourage you to do so. We must remove Pete Morelli.”

The Change.org petition had more than 3,280 of the original desired 2,500 signatures by Friday afternoon. The goal is now set at 5,000.

We should all sign in case we play the Saints in the playoffs

I signed it.  But if all these teams (Eagles, Falcons, Vikings) think he has it in for them, does he truly have it in for them or is his crew just incredibly inept?

I signed because of 2009... This was the crew that didn't call any of the Bountygate hits.

To be fair... The Saints had 9 penalties for 88 yard, while the Vikes had 5 for 32.

Still... That 9/88 should have been far worse.

well if assignments are determined by ability... Morelli is doing the packer lions game tomorrow which has zero playoff implications.

Also, Pete Morelli was the ref that overturned the Favre to Shiancoe TD in the Vikings/Packers game in 2010 that was the diffrernce in the game. The NFL later stated that it should have been ruled a TD as called on the field.
