Packers IR violation
#1
Anyone reading the news about "teams" filing official complaints over the way the Packers handled Aaron Rodgers' 2nd trip to the IR?

Apparently the rule is written to specifically say that a player cannot be put back on IR for the same injury.

The rule goes on to say that any player who is placed on IR for the SAME injury must be released.

Kinda curious is anyone else has followed/caught this today, and also maybe if anyone is making popcorn?

(Im more taken back by the rule and the implications than an expectation that it'll actually happen. I thought it was a joke until the rulebook was quoted.)

Well of course he does’t...  Confused

Take their first round draft pick next year, suspend Rodgers for 6 games, and they lose 1 home game next year.

If Erin Rogers was a free agent I cant see him resigning with the pack

I still cant believe they were dumb enough to do this.
I understand Rodgers can void his contract after this season.  With the Pack being so bad, not a Pro Bowler on the entire team and as bad of front office as they have, I cant believe Rodgers doesnt run for a legitimate contender.

I can understand Rogers frustration with TT over the long-run.

Dont know if their window is past or not? Its too easy to conclude that after last nights game.

But outside of Brady, Rogers is probably the #2 best player in the league - with all due respects to Brees. Thats a hell of a place to start with a rebound - a player who makes EVERYONE else better.

TT/McCarthy's jobs will always be easier than RS's & Zimm's because of that.

Last night was the worst Packer team I can remember and they've been slammed with injuries. Lets not forget that coming into that October game with the Vikings, the Packers were like 4/1 and #2 in NFC. I was unhappy at even the most remote possibility of a GB fan invasion of USB and MN in February.

I personally dont think they're done being competitive, but I do think the Vikings have surpassed them overall in NFC rankings. Clay is older, they have big decisions on Adams, Cobb and Jordie. They're defense is average on a good day. They will have a ton of cap they'll have to allocate to Rogers.
