Vikings look forward to ‘amped-up’ U.S. Bank Stadium for playoffs
#1
Vikings coach Mike Zimmer was hoping fans would make Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals at U.S. Bank Stadium the loudest of the season, and it might have been.
The Vikings wrapped up the NFC North with a 34-7 victory before a raucous sellout crowd of 66,833.
The win assured Minnesota will have at least one home game in the playoffs. Quarterback Case Keenum only can wonder how loud it then will be.
“I have a feeling it’s going to be even more amped up,” Keenum said. “It’s exciting. It’s the next step.”
In his first season with the Vikings (11-3), Keenum certainly has done his part as the Vikings locked up a second division title in three years. He is 9-3 as a starter, and on Sunday completed 20 of 23 passes for 236 yards with two touchdowns.

“I think we’re all happy, but I think we all understand this is part of the bigger picture,” Robison said. “This is the first step for us to get to our ultimate goal (of winning the Super Bowl). … We’re happy, but we weren’t going overboard (celebrating).”
After the game, the Vikings donned hats and T-shirts that proclaimed them NFC North champions. Players got together for photos, including a group portrait that included several standing on chairs.
“I jumped out there” to get into the photo, Keenum said. “I made sure. I was wondering where the wide receivers went and went out and jumped in (with them). Got some good pictures.”
