Packers waive TE Martellus Bennett
GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Green Bay Packers have waived Martellus Bennett, bringing the tight end’s short tenure at Lambeau Field to a surprising end.
General manager Ted Thompson announced the move on Wednesday after practice.
The Packers cited a “failure to disclose a physical condition” for making the move. Bennett was added to the injury report after the bye last week with a shoulder injury. He did not play in the 30-17 loss on Monday to the Detroit Lions.

Failure to disclose? Hmm... wonder if they can get some of that contract money back.

Martellus Bennett disputes Packers’ claim of failure to disclose conditionIt was a surprise when the Packers released tight end Martellus Bennett. It was a big surprise when the Packers contended that he failed to disclose a medical condition.
To no surprise, Bennett disputes that he hid anything from the team.
Bennett practiced throughout the offseason and training camp, and he appeared in seven regular-season games. Only after he expressed an intention to retire following the season did his shoulder become an issue. Whether it became an issue for Bennett or the team or both is irrelevant; it wasn’t an issue before that.

Mysterious injuries popping up now that the season is in the toilet.  The Bennett brothers are real pieces of work.   But I hope this blows up in the teams face as well.

Good player.
If he can play, get him for back half of season?
It would soothe my butthurt over Bucky.
And he could help us pound GB.

I could see him back in Chicago to take Zach Miller's place
