Bill Maher... once again the voice of reason?

"And then people got on stage and went like, ‘Everybody here should be happy to be here except for you,’" Maher said. "And they literally pointed him out by name in the crowd. It’s that kind of thing that makes me fucking hate the far left assholes who do that and their fucking bad attitude."

I am not sure why he wouldn't have raised this argument when it still mattered,  but even he sees this as a big ol nothing, except it came from a conservative, and those that viewed it otherwise were either willfully ignorant of the actual comments,  or simply blind sheep following the directions of their media masters.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

I'm begrudgingly starting to not think Maher is totally full of shit.  He's coming around, or maybe standing his ground as the left spirals into insanity.

I think thats it.  He is a pretty good example of the left getting drug further away from center
He still seems very much the same in terms of his positions.  I heard Musk talking about a group that took obama and Clinton speeches from 20 years ago, reading them to the TDS crowd and having them blowing up... then they are informed that they were actually quotes from Obama and Clinton and they are bewildered.

This would explain why so many lefties think the right are all radicals as they view the gap between positions,  but dont realize they are the ones getting pulled further from center.

Look no further than tariffs.  Democrats are reflexively against them, and they're as close to a classic liberal policy foundation as something can be.  The only thing is Trump knew how to rebrand them and use them to our total advantage.   Maher seems like captain obvious to me, but he's probably not in liberal circles.

tariffs are good until they arent.  short term I am good with them,  but they are kind of like a welfare check,  if they dont encourage domestic manufacturing growth and the corresponding job creation,  they just create a dependency and eventually the source of the tariff goes away and we are left with no new jobs,  and no longer a financial source,  or the other country nuts up and creates their own retaliatory tariffs.  short term success,  yes,   long term plan... no.

Agree, except for the influencing foreign policy angle and the repatriation of critical industries like pharmaceuticals and potentially rare earth materials. We can still import but not more than 50% or so from China.
