What do u think?

Will Wentz be the veteran QB competition in camp next year? I think they might have to think bigger than that.

Wentz must have something preventing him from functioning like he was pre injury. Either that or defenses just have him figured out. No way I want to go into camp with that as our only option.

No, Wentz's playing career is over.

I don’t think Wentz is good enough to really execute KOC’s scheme, but I’m not sure exactly where the long list of starting caliber backups is being hidden, and I think that guys that struggle with his system get the boot.

I also think that there’s going to have to be some rethinking of the KOC hubris that he can just mold any old guy into a superstar, when his 2025 QB record has gone so poorly with Howell, Wentz, JJM and Brosmer all struggling with his system. It’s really only looking like Darnold is the only success on the KOC QB Whisperer resume.

If there were a bunch of good QBs available we wouldn't still be searching for one after 40 years.

We're gonna live and die by McCarthy this year (we died) and next year (not looking great!).

The only way I see 100% moving beyond JJM completely would be to take a stab at a QB with a fat contract that maybe the team wants to get out of, and pray KO can level them up. Tua, anyone? Trevor Lawrence? Baker? These guys or anyone similar will cost picks and money that most fans won't be willing to accept. I would not make these moves either but if the team is heckbent on stabilizing the QB position for 2026, thinking along the lines of: "we need to save our jobs here people, pay whatever it takes", this is the only move I see.

Bringing in Mac Jones or Anthony Richardson or Gardner Minshoe as "competition" is fine I guess, but you're still basically saying the season is over before it starts unless McCarthy can beat them out. If he doesn't, maybe you win 9 games with the most expensive roster in the league. Nice

2026 Wentz is a real dead end move imo.
