"Center Ryan Kelly is eligible to return off IR Sunday. It could be the first snaps the Vikings Starting O-Line has together all season.
Get momentum at the right time."

I think they'd give him a week to acclimate....a week from this Sunday.

At this point, I'd rather keep Brandel in there to see if we have a longer term answer at center. I think we can all agree that Kelly isn't someone we can rely on moving forward due to the concussions

I hear you, but I'd rather have the guy that played center at Alabama and his whole career in the NFL back helping JJ out with calls. The team knows what they have in Brandel at center....he's not going anywhere. Wes Phillips intimated that Brandel's best NFL position might be center....whether that's STARTING center I don't know. Hell, Kelly might not make it all year healthy anyway.

Brandel played well against the Lions, and he might be our future there, but I'd put Kelly back in as soon as he's able. The line that we all envisioned—Darrisaw, Jackson, Kelly, Fries, O'Neill—can be a formidable group if they start getting some time together.

I am concerned about stability and how much more Kelly can take.

Tough call. Brandel excelled at C two out of the three games he played there...which if you consider his previous experience at C was non-existent his entire career, is amazeballs. I would not want Kelly to get another concussion, I would only want Kelly to play if he was 100%. I believe this is year 2 of Brandel's 3 year extension, isn't it? We have time and we very well may need him here or elsewhere on the line. His current value now exceeds his contract.

Kelly's health and well being is more important than the game. Make the right call Ryan so you can enjoy your later years.

If Brandel stayed at center and they needed somebody to fill in at guard it would most likely be Huber. They really need a better option at tackle because Skule isn't it.

I guess my point is, Kelly will be 35 prior to next season and he's had multiple concussions. We have an out on his contract after this season with only a 3 million dead cap hit. Does anybody really expect him to be on the team next year? I dont. With that in mind, I'd rather use the rest of the year to test Brandel and see if he can solidify the spot for us heading into next season. That's more valuable then trotting out an older player who is an injury risk and doesn't figure into the long term plans. Vikings want to activate him as the backup/emergency center, go for it...but sticking it out with Brandel is the right move going forward

He's 32 years old.....won't be 33 until the end of May next year.

You are correct and I read that wrong. Point still holds true
