House of Dysfunction: The Curious Case of Caleb Williams
#1
Wow. This is a scathing indictment on Caleb Williams. What an article by Tyler Dunne, yikes:

You know if you pick stuff up as a fan on game-day, its even worse the rest of the week at team HQ.

It was the case in Zimsu's last season or 2 and it sure was the case with Eberflus last year.

Look, I'm not excusing Caleb at all. But if I am a Bears fan? I am hoping (praying) to god that Johnson can right whats wrong with the QB and that entire locker room.

They got no other choice.

Jayden Daniels - 69% completion, 3,568 yards, 25 TDs, 9 iNTs
Caleb Williams - 63% completion, 3,541 yards, 20 TDs, 6 INTs

Consider Daniels played for a playoff team that was very well coached and a lot of playmakers on offense, while Williams played for a team that was a complete disaster with horrible coaching. I honestly, don't get what this kid did to get all the harsh criticism and hack writers like this trying to make name for themselves by spewing a lot of garbage. Kid looked very good against us and almost brought them back from a large deficit. Not rooting for the Bears obviously, but rooting for him to shut a lot of people up.

Caleb Williams had 100 more pass attempts than Daniels and still threw less TDs.  Jayden also ran for almost 900 yards and 6TDs.  Caleb took 68 sacks or something ridiculous.

If you watched them both, the difference couldn't be more clear who was playing like a legit NFL QB.

Two very different players, the stats don't come close to telling the story. The sacks he took are really something to watch, almost unprecedented in how many were directly his fault by holding onto the ball forever. He'll have this season to change the bust narrative...he's got a better team around him.

I think I read he was at fault for at least 17 of the 68 sacks he took...  and his pressure to sack rate (meaning the percentage of times you were sacked after being pressured) led the league.

I saw some comparisons to Kyler Murray pre-draft.  Didn't see it at the time because I did like him as a prospect, but they are eerily similar in play style, attitude/persona, and both have a lot to prove as #1 picks.
