FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- New York Jets quarterback Justin Fields was carted off the practice field Thursday morning with an apparent lower leg injury.

Fields pulled up after rolling right and throwing an incomplete short pass to tight end Jeremy Ruckert. Fields went down, sat on the ground briefly and limped off the field with the assistance of a trainer.

He spent a few minutes in the injury tent before a cart arrived on the scene. Fields was taken to the locker room, sitting in the passenger seat of the cart, before walking into the team facility.

Oh wow, you really hate to see this.

"Mike Greenberg reacts live to reports of Justin Fields' injury: "I turn to others to speak on my behalf, because quite candidly, if I were to speak right now, I don't know how well that would go for anyone. It is the first freaking day of practice, they aren't even in pads, and Justin Fields is being carted off the field."

If this is serious, do the Jets finally get the QB they wanted back in 2018?

Jets coach Aaron Glenn told reporters that Justin Fields suffered a toe injury today and it is too early to determine its severity.

HUGE sigh of relief in Florham Park.

A player stepped on Justin Fields’ toe and the Jets QB should be fine.

Yep, dislocated toe. I seemingly had every sports source on the planet blow up my phone/feed with that info a few minutes ago.
Wishing a great season for the team, Especially Mundt and Kwenkeu! Big Grin

No one should be out on a ledge about the Jets because they're just going to suck like they always do. Wink

An MRI confirmed an ACL tear for Dolphins CB Artie Burns, who now is expected to miss the 2025 season, per source.

Uggh, still remember sitting there stunned looking at the ESPN alert on my phone, "Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater feared to have torn ACL and other ligaments in non-contact injury at Vikings training camp."

Hopes and dreams swirling down the toilet bowl with every other Vikings season...

If only they really cared about clarity.....its only engagement they care about. And Nick knows this because he does the same kind of hyperbole and misinformation for his own benefit. Also Mike Greenberg: give me a break. He came dramatically on the air so quick with this news like a world leader was assassinated and before he had any idea what the injury was or how severe it was. Views, clicks and engagement pressure have completely ruined sports media.
