I think thats a loaded question,  way to complex an issue for a simple answer in a poll.

Sometimes Captain Obvious smacks you straight in the face. Nothing complex or misleading in this poll at all.  And it explains a lot about the divide in our country and the values we hold.  Sizeable amount of this country calls people racists and gives it the middle finger.  The other side is sane.  Calling everyone Fascists, Nazis, and Racists is pretty much the only retort for 1/3 of this country.  They make no rational arguments.

No it's not,  I am proud to be an American as it's what my family has fought to defend for several generations,  but I am not proud of what it has become and that's not just a conservative dissing the liberal agenda,  its the shit our own "conservstive" people are doing as well.

So yes its very much not a black and white question,  to argue as much is completely short sighted.

Being proud to be an American doesn’t mean you have no concerns or complaints.  But, when you start burning flags, carry another countries flag, or support known terrorists, it’s really clear you’re not proud and you’re not going to lean to the right. Lol

I dont think you hold the power to determine what is or isn't pride.

I agree with you Jim but I don't think the poll response is unexpected.  I think if you asked people whether America was a great Country...you'd get a similar result.  That's the big difference, in my opinion.  Like you, I will always have things about our governance that make me angry but..I would NEVER say that America isn't a great Country.  Never.  You'll find many on the Left that will debate the greatness of America and whether it was truly great.

I think its likely skewed by who is in control.  there are plenty of red ties that would say its not great,  when the blue ties are in control, and the exact opposite now that they are in control,  when things are equal in comparison.  Its all about the optics and how the story needs to be spun for many IMO.

I think that yes the left does have its share of America haters,  but by and large they dont represent more than a few % of the total group,  just like the radical right are really not a true indicator of the group as a whole.

The polls over time do not support your assertion, Jimmy.  Very minor changes over time.  Democrats being in office tend to make Americans even less proud through their virtue signaling, while Republican pride goes up a little when Republicans are in office.  I think you Severely underestimate the number of democrats who truly hate America.

that could be the case, but I also dont really give much weight to polls,  much like science these days they can be very manipulated as we have seen over the last few election cycles.

I will say that outside of a few blue strongholds, I dont hear much anti American rhetoric from Americans.
