Like I said last week when I mentioned KOC said he wanted to run more....of course he does. And now he's got the horses to do so. It allows you to have an optimal offense, an optimal KOC offense. Unpredictable. Highly effective in any situation. Better in the red zone. Its why you can't discount them taking an OG in round 1, especially a versatile guy like Zabel. Mason was an important pickup for what they want to do. Play action passing is a big strength of McCarthy. You're also going to see some play calls for JJM to run situationally, which is a new wrinkle that will only add to problems for opposing Ds.

Improved OL and added a bigger RB with some pop, so definitely should be able to run the ball more. Definitely makes sense to take the pressure of JJM, but regardless of your QB, it is huge to have a solid run game to balance out the offense. It would have made a big difference last year for Darnold, especially in those last two games, when we had to carry the offense despite being off. 19th in the league last year in yards per rush. One understated thing about Mason is he is a bigger and more powerful RB than Jones, so would be great to see us have a much better short yardage game which we have really been lacking.

Even the greatest show on turf knew you had to run the ball.

BUT - KOC has a fetish for passing. He cant help himself.

I'm not convinced balanced is how we'll describe this offense come December.

I think this is all about JJ McCarthy. You don't want your 22 year old QB dropping back to pass 40 times a game. Run the ball, play defense, give JJ a piece at a time and if he proves he can handle more, give him more

Interestingly they’ve been looking at big OT’s pre draft, could we see some 6 man line power running…?
