He should be a great get if he can stay heathy...He was "eye opening good" in the Commodes games I watched late last season and post-season.

He was the first visit in FA for Minnesota right out of the gate, a huge priority. They wined and dined the guy.

It kinda got me thinking, if Allen and Hargrave don’t get cut, what was the plan? Seeing the money NE threw at Williams, that certainly wasn’t an option. I think we lucked out here.

Now backup/rotational/starter guys like Redmond, Rodriquez, Taimani and whomever they may draft get less reps, become more effective in those situational reps and give Allen and Hargrave needed rest during games and everyone is fresh. Impactful and keeps BFlo's options strong and unpredictable.

I think we lucked out here. I think we did get lucky. Very lucky. It was obvious by the 1-year bridge deals signed by Bullard and Tillery that this was a position the Vikings would focus on in 2025. But without these two, we probably would've had to throw the bank at Williams and then be forced to draft DT with our first pick.

I’m just not sure we have the appetite to throw top of market money at anyone. Maybe we would after missing out on Wilkins last year and our remaining cap space, around $21 million, you can easily make that argument. I didn’t hear any rumblings of either guy getting cut. Maybe there was rumblings at the Combine that didn’t see the light of day.

I think NFL front offices have a very good idea of who's going to be cut and who isn't. Agents do the back door thing, kind of giving a head's up to teams that my guy is going to be available, etc. |
