Vikings GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah:

"We wanted to build the type of team that could support a young quarterback who we're excited about being here, competing every day.

You don't know what January football's going to be like. You want to build a team that can win any type of game, and that's what we set out to do, and will continue to do so when the draft comes."

Hopefully, the conversations went like this:

"A-a-ron, just retire, switch to macrodosing, and take a couple years off to knock boots with your latest celebrity gf. Someone will pay you for commentator babble once you've detoxed".
Build on 14-3, take back the NFCN, break the ****ing curse. Simple.

Can’t respect a man who wouldn’t go down on Olivia Munn.

Well...not quite I don't think. It won't be closed until Rodgers signs with another team or the Vikings have chosen their backup QB. Until that point, Rodgers will still be an option.

Yep, I think that's right. If something happened to JJM (injury), they'd revisit. That's the only scenario. Because otherwise Rodgers would be here already. But its like saying the Whopper I'm currently eating, if somehow it flew out of my hand out the window while driving the car I'd keep McDonalds and the Big Mac open as 'an option'. Silver knew KOC and Rodgers were talking because they have a relationship, but that doesn't mean it was close to fruition. I personally never denied there were conversations.....I'm saying that it was never anywhere near '50/50' like Russini said.

Minnesota isn't going to sign a backup until after April 29th more than likely because of the comp deal. I'm sure Rodgers was extremely interested.

I don't think that's the only scenario. I think there's a scenario where JJ looks fine in OTAs, Rodgers is still sitting on his hands into the summer, and the Vikings have yet to sign a backup QB. The whole issue is about starter vs. backup. Vikings are not just going to hand Rodgers the starting job. He knows that. But there might come a point where his good options (if you can call them that) run out and the backup job in Minnesota is the best he can do. I think the Vikings would love to have him as a backup. And he would LOVE to play in this offense. So the Vikings are still at the top of his list....likely by mile. If he doesn't sign in Pittsburgh, I could easily see this playing out.
