It won't solve itself overnight, but luckily we have a guy who knows how to get big things done.

I'm wary but hopeful...Thats been a brutal war and Trump has done more to try and end it in a few mos than his predecessor did in 4 years.
As difficult as Ukraine is, I think Gaza will be that much more difficult. I'm also seeing Germany is stepping-up its military spend and I suspect others in NATO will follow suit. Thats a good thing. I dont see eye/eye with Trump on America's role in the world (I am a globalist, not a nationalist) but I will give credit where credit is due - even if I have to plug my nose to do it ![]() Now if he could just stop kicking marginalized groups in American society in their groins...

Per usual I agree with you a little and disagree with you a little. He has definitely made our so-called "partners" step up in NATO which is sorely needed for our future whether a globalist or America First. I think Trump is content to let Hamas / Hezbollah / Iran get what's coming to them for the time being. I think that pause was more about getting as many hostages back as realistically possible while allowing the old gangs to get back together and become less scattered once the war resumed. It'll have to play out a while longer just because it's the Middle East. Trump was on his way with the Abraham Accords and that's where he's headed with this as well. Make the Arab States police their own. The part I don't agree with is your last sentence. I don't see him doing that at all, just creating a level playing field that has not been level for some time due to over-corrections and horrible policies.

A long ways to go with Russia / Ukraine. Neither side is inclined to take a deal and Putin is one slippery bastard. For Gaza...Israel is just going to continue to bomb it into the dark ages. I have to think the best case scenario is to support Saudi and Jordan taking in refugees. Gaza will not be habitable by the time this is done (if it is right now). And no...that doesn't mean Israel (re) annexing the territory. It's just not sustainable any more as a territory. It would be better off as a State of Egypt or equivalent but the Egyptians don't want the expense and militancy that comes with it.

Gaza is uninhabitable now...it be like one of those Sci Fi movies where people live underground in Silos cause the earth became uninhabitable up above. Its a hot potato as you say. Nobody in the Arab world is going to raise their hand for being responsible on a forward basis. Maybe the Trump Gaza with some resorts and golf courses really is the best path forward??? Scary what they can do with AI these days: ![]()

Brings a lot of joy to the world with her art, feeds stray cats and drops off food to the homeless on the streets of LA. ps- I agree trans females shouldn't play in born female sports too ![]()

I wouldn't project too much about my life, because while I don't have a trans kid, I do have other similar things at play with people very close to me. I have nothing against trans kids, but they have no more rights than a white male and they should receive the same rights and funding. DEI has been a disaster for the rights of minorities. I would say the vast majority of white males were in a good place on the journey to acceptance for all minorities prior to Obama. Since then, (Obama supposedly didn't believe in same sex marriage, btw) the astounding overreach has put a vast majority in a fighting mode over DEI. I sat through a course at work and the level of hate towards white males was possible. They basically wanted each and every white male in the room to feel bad about being a white male. I'm not overstating that point. I fully believe in non-discrimination against any type of individual that is not harming others and doing their own thing, but they don't deserve rights others don't have, and Tranny women in little girls bathrooms or Tranny men in women's sports defeats the whole purpose. It may be a minutely small segment of the population, but that's kind of the point, why should the broader portion of the public be penalized for radical beliefs?

I dont always want/need to divulge information like that -- about anyone I know. But when people tell me marginalized groups arent "under attack" for better words, I could not disagree more. Its shameful and hateful how this group has been portrayed and treated. Most recently by tweets from Musk strongly insinuating it was trans people who were burning/looting Teslas. ITs a dangerous, dumb world and there is no need to fuel hate anger and fear that much more... I keep reminding myself, Jesus loves those you hate... I set the bar at don't attack these people, live and let live...but like I posted elsewhere that is not the message a lot of people are hearing from very influential and important people. A lot of the ads I saw on trans community this election are very reminiscent of how Jews were portrayed in 1930's Germany. Thats not right. Its a complex issue, especially as it pertains to kids. Parents aren't prepared for it, I wasn't. No need for us to swirl on it...I appreciate the engagement on the topic though.

I think the reality is the pendulum swung too far in support of trans rights (sports, etc.) and now you're seeing an over correction. Hopefully, it settles somewhere in the middle. Did you see this gem last week? https://6abc.com/post/controversial-new-.../16039982/ That's why I say things swung too far. Treat everybody with love and respect but some of these protections went too far. In terms of Musk...the fire bomber in Colorado and another person that fire bombed the Tesla repair center in Vegas were both trans..so 2 of the 3 arrests so far were trans individuals. Is it responsible or important that Musk includes the trans aspect..probably not. https://nypost.com/2025/03/14/us-news/tr...y-sources/ |
