Where Colin Was Wrong/Tomlin
#1
Colin Cowherd loves his California teams and he was all over Harbaugh and Herbert's jock this week.....and what an egg they both laid. Any worse big game and overrated QB than Justin Herbert? 4 INTS, yikes. Threw one long TD or his already crappy boxscore lines would have been much worse. Take away the fourth-quarter touchdown pass to Ladd McConkey (86 yards), and Herbert is 13 of 31 for 146 yards and four interceptions. That's an abysmal performance for a quarterback that has 21,093 passing yards in five seasons.

And in Pittsburgh: Is this the swan song for Mike Tomlin in Pittsburgh? The Steelers lost their sixth straight playoff game under Tomlin, and the third straight by 14+ points. There was a time in this season the Steelers were 10-3 and en route to the AFC North title. Pittsburgh had a two-game lead over Baltimore with the head-to-head tiebreaker in hand, essentially being up three games with four to play. The Steelers didn't win another game the rest of the season. Tomlin is now 8-11 in playoff games.

Chargers have bored me to tears for years. This year was no different.

My own opinion is that I think Tomlin is safe, but there will probably be more changes on that roster (and his staff) this year than for a while.

Starting with Wilson.

I'll state it again, I think Pitt would be a great franchise for Darnold to play for.

I read a tweet this morning from Purple Persuasion suggesting that Justin Herbert is the most overrated QB in the NFL. Ridiculous. Why do we always do this? Guy has a crap game and suddenly everything he's done all year is meaningless. You know how many picks Herbert had in the regular season? 3. Three. THREE!! He had a shit game. Abysmal is right, but that doesn't mean that's what he is, was and always will be.

Same with Tomlin. There's an SI article that says they should trade him and tear it all down. Overreact much? Honestly, there may not be a better coach in the NFL. In 18 seasons he's never had a losing season. Think about that. Oh but just trade him and bring in the next Josh McDaniels or Matt Eberflus?. Writer also says they should trade TJ Watt for a 1st round pick (and then some). I stopped reading at that point because I knew the writer was an idiot. You don't get 1st round draft picks for 30 year old defenders making $30M a year.

Before the season, many expected the Steelers to finish last in the division. But they came out, surprised everyone and played well early. THAT'S the story, not the collapse at the end. Their last four opponents were the Eagles, Ravens, Chiefs and Bengals.  They just didn't have the roster to compete with the good teams at the end of their schedule.

I think Steeler Nation would disagree with you, they are sick to death of playoffs exits first round and this mediocrity of being a wildcard, drafting below the middle of the pack and wash, rinse and repeat. I don't think Herbert is a bad QB, but he's not a big timer in big moments so he is overrated in that regard. He's come up small in the 2 playoff games he's been in. But a beautiful thrower of the football, like Uncle Sammy.

I would gladly trade for the Steelers Superbowl record this century;
2 Superbowl wins and 1 Superbowl loss in 3 appearances.
Some fans don't realize how good they have it.

I think its like anything else, its what you get used to. Pittsburgh's last SB win was 16 years ago, that's a long time ago for younger fans that are 20-30 years old. Hell, there are Patriot fans right now that don't watch their games because 'the team sucks', lol. Fickle.

Well only one team can win every year, the other 31 squads go home disappointed.

Well for me, after 50 years, I would be overjoyed just getting there.

I am the opposite,  if they get there they have to win it.  nearly my entire childhood was the trivia question of which team had lost the most superbowls... until finally the bills finally tied us in an outstanding fashion by losing 4 straight.  I dont want to be the first team to lose 5 without ever having won one.  If we get there we damn well better win.... do it for the children!
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

Tomlin didn't win a playoff game Rothlisberger's last 5 seasons....and now 4th wildcard exit in the last 5 seasons. Their offense has stunk out loud. He at the very least has earned some sharp criticism.
