Man, the bloom is off this guy's rose....

I think some younger national media members wanted to crown McDaniel some kind of quirky, super intelligent genius that was going to blow up the league. Not so much. I do think he's an original, don't think his personality is fraudulent to who he is, but his irreverent nature gets to be a bit much....there needs to be substance and success to back it up. Having said that, he's not dumb. He can put a decent gameplan together. He was just majorly overhyped.

McDaniel is a smart offensive mind but Miami has underachieved the entire time he's been there. Too many games against good teams where they can't win. Then throw in all the time that Tua has missed with concussions and they are a team loaded with playmakers without a reliable QB option. Tough to win and win consistently without a QB.

Agree with you on McDaniel, but that photo is hysterical. Yes, America would be so much better if only our coaches still dressed like Dick Fucking Tracy.

I dont know that the suit makes the man, but how much more respect do you pay to a professional, than you would to the guy that looks like he works at jamba juice? I have no idea how much focus and respect that Daniels gets, but it would surprise me to see that his players show him the same level of respect that somebody who at least looks and acts the part would get from players, especially the veterans. Daniels always makes me think of the coach that plays madden with his guys and goes clubbing with them after practice.

I think he's fine as a coach. Not fantastic but not bad. McDaniel is in a really tough spot. Tua hasn't been able to stay on the field, so what should McDaniel do? If they have another bad year next year he'll either be out or on the hot seat. I'm not sure how they could get out of Tua's contract, but I'd be extremely nervous if I was Mike to bet my career on Tua's health.

I wonder if our old friend Kirk will wind up in South Beach? I'd be up for some McDaniel-like before and afters of Minnesota and Miami Kirk. Tongue

So Beach seems more Russ Wilson then Kirk Cousins.

They aren’t allowed to wear suits anymore, unless whichever company has the NFL apparel deal starts making suits with your teams logo and color scheme on it.

It’d be interesting to see what players buy into more, a guy that tries to look more stylish or a guy that’s wearing a Dolphins branded polo and vest.

You look at McDaniels more professional look, and dude looks like such a nerd, I can’t imagine 24 year olds taking him seriously.

I think you can look professional without a suit and tie.  but jacked up sweats and ratty hair hardly looks like the guy you would think would be in charge of an nfl team, more like the guy in charge of picking up the sweaty towels.
