I would support an 8th ref in the booth to make egregious calls like the Darnold facemask that were made/missed.

IMO the pentaly system could use a good overhall. Grounding, fumble out the end zone, pass interference, illegal motion vs false start.

Just adopt the VAR system ala soccer.
What is a VAR in soccer?
A video assistant referee (VAR) is a match official, with independent access to match footage, who may assist the referee only in the event of a 'clear and obvious error' or 'serious missed incident' in relation to: a. Goal/no goal. b. Penalty/no penalty.

All plays reviewable....
The game is too fast for some of these fossils (I include myself) too many games are decided by what SHOULD / SHOULD NOT have been called.

(Can't let it cut into commercial time however, you have to have priorities)

Well it seems like right now the NFL is 2 minutes of play to 5 minutes of commercials so dropping to 4 minutes shouldn't hurt the billionaires that much.

What I wouldn't GIVE for two minutes of televised play.

Can't tell you how many times they returned from a commercial for just a punt, then back to another commercial.....The worst.

This may possibly be the worse rule in sports. It seems pretty basic, if the defense does not get possession of the ball it should go to the offense at the 20. So many games have been totally changed unfairly due to this rule.

Well when it happens to a darling and decides the game they definitely will change the rule.

A kick returner being able to step one foot out of bounds and then touch a live ball making it out of bounds is another bad rule. As soon as he is out it and touches the ball it should be a penalty on the return team IMO as he goes out on his own and doesnt re-establish himself and is the first to touch a live ball.
