RUMOR: Cousins has the rest of this season to show out....

Otherwise, the team would consider trading him and starting Penix. Don't want decent to pretty good, they want optimal play for the contract. Not sure how they've come to that conclusion, considering that's been Kirko up to this point: pretty damn good at times but never elite for a prolonged period. And what team is going to absorb that contract in a trade? I'm sure its possible, but probably limited to even what team could financially do it.

Is his contract worth a 6-5 record at this point in the weakest division in football?

Does he still have a no-trade clause?

What is Kirko even worth? A pick swap? You’d have to take on that salary.

It's been ugly, Atlanta is reminding me of the time when Dan Snyder went free-agent crazy with the Redskins, circa 2000 or so. He bought a ton of talent, but the team was never a "unit" that worked well together. Similarly, the Falcons just look out of sync to me, like they needed another month of training camp or similar.

I've seen good and bad from Kirko, and he's just like the team in that respect. I have no idea why he threw one pass to a triple-covered receiver that got picked, today, but I've sad the same about Darnold when he was trying to force passes to JJ.

Honestly, I feel like we could have a dominant game against Atlanta.

4 INTs and Kirko is laughing all the way to the bank. Atlanta fans are chanting for Penix. Careful what you wish for and Mr. Cousins got it.....as did Atlanta.

I think you said it, Sticky-- who would trade for that contract if he isn't playing well? He can still turn it around and I bet he will at least somewhat, but that is a LOT of money and he's been in the league a LONG time. Atlanta is going to have to dump him for nothing or pay him to be gone just to get him out of the locker room, if they decide to roll with Penix.

Something no one is really talking about is the effect the Achilles injury has had on Cousins and Rodgers. We have never seen a QB come back from an Achilles injury in the NFL that I'm aware of and I don't think it's a coincidence that both him and Rodgers are struggling.

So much of playing QB is tied to your mental game and your footwork. Their Achilles might be healed, but maybe they don't have the mental confidence in it yet and their footwork and throwing mechanics are suffering because of it.

It was one reason I was OK moving on from Kirk...
