That 2022 draft keeps getting worse. Three of the top 5 no longer on the roster and the other two are backups (and that is being nice).

It's a mixed bag with Kwesi...His last FA class was out of the park. Maybe they struck gold with JJM/Turner, but we wont know that for a while. 

Much more clear-cut pix with KOC imo. 

I dont know if I would extend KAM or not?

I agree, but the difficult thing is usually if the coach gets an extension so does the GM because they are tied at the hip. 2022 will go down as one of, if not THE worst draft class in Vikings history. 2023 we drafted a solid #2 in Addison, otherwise the rest of that class is a dumpster fire and we don't know what we have in Blackmon. To me the decision to extend KAM or not comes down to the development of JJM and Dallas Turner. Unfortunately we won't know that progress until next year. I will give KAM some credit with what he's done in free agency and I think the acquisition of Cam Robinson has saved the season for us. So certainly a mixed bag as it is with most GM's. Would certainly like to see better results on draft day..

Vikings wont get to the personnel/salary cap positions they want long term w/out better drafting. Just not possible through FA alone. 

I dont know what I would do if I were the Wilfs? Maybe KAM gets another contract thats more incentive laden?  Dont know how GM contracts work vs HC or a player?

They have some time, but not a lot. Those contracts expire at the end of next season.

The Vikings let go of the final defensive back from their 2022 draft class on Saturday, cutting cornerback Akayleb Evans in the middle of a season where his role on defense had dissolved, according to two sources with knowledge of the team’s plans.

He is the fifth member of General Manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah’s first draft class to leave the team, though it’s possible Evans could still return to the practice squad. 

Guard Ed Ingram, the team’s second-round pick in 2022, was pulled out of the starting lineup last week against the Titans, and third-round pick Brian Asamoah II is playing special teams.

The Vikings have only Mekhi Blackmon, Dwight McGlothern and NaJee Thompson under contract at cornerback for 2025, though they could explore a new deal for the 26-year-old Byron Murphy Jr. and pursue help in free agency. Blackmon and Thompson are out this season with injuries.

Evans could have a way back into the picture if he returns on the practice squad, but the loss of his defensive role would seem to indicate he will have to change the Vikings’ minds.

The move cleared a roster spot for the Vikings as two players — tight end Nick Muse and outside linebacker Gabe Murphy — prepare to return from injured reserve. 

Both are in their 21-day practice windows before the Vikings will have to make a decision on their status for the rest of the season; the team listed both as questionable for Sunday’s game against Chicago, and could make a roster move to activate one of them by 3 p.m. Saturday in time for the Bears game.

This week they cut Blackmon......

For too long the Vikings have allowed anointed starters and high draft picks to coast. IMO these changes are positive.

The cuts must have to do with Muse and Murphy. Muse goes on the 53 because of the injury to Oliver. Murphy maybe because of Blackmon?
