I enjoy Mina Kimes mostly. Smart, usually brings very solid takes. Yale graduate, used to be in financial news for Bloomberg before switching to sports and ESPN.

I agree his offense is one of the best in the NFL, and he's one of the better play callers...regardless of the what the "unsuccessful play = bad call" crowd says.

My first thought when I read this was the two consecutive tush pushes with Powell doing the pushing which cost us the win. I like KOC, he is a likable guy, the players seem to really like him and he has a great energy, however I think he has a long way to go in terms of managing a game as he has made a lot of questionable decisions that have led to losses. I think he has a ton of potential and possibly maybe a coach of the year down the road, but he has a lot of learning to do yet to get there.

I think KOC is a good dark horse candidate for bettors where you could get a better return because of the odds.
I'm not sure he's really earned this praise yet. He's got one QB to perform well in his offense. Hasn't figured out a running game yet. Not sure if he really has any input in the defense, or would be riding Flores's coattails on the defensive side of the ball.
But if he can get the running game going, get good QB play, I am expecting Flores to cook with more talent. If gets that, things could go well for us and him.

Ah the Powell tush push. But how do we know it wasn't an option? For example, based on what the defense shows, one option might be to hand it to Powell on an end around. The announcer wonders why itty bitty Powell is the one who is pushing and all the fans pile on. But maybe putting Powell in the backfield as an end around threat gives the defense something to think about, spreads them out a bit, opening the middle for a QB sneak.
Bottom line is that it's almost never as it seems.

Not a chance. When KOC dragged Kirk and co. to 13-4 in 2022 he barely got a mention for COY. I guarantee you, if the Vikings and Bears finish with the same record, all the COY hype will go to Eberflus. Also if Daniels shows up for the Commanders the media will be drooling all over their coach.

I agree it might be hard because of the narratives you are speaking to. But there's little doubt in my mind we've got one of the best young HCs in the NFL. I look forward to seeing his contract extended.
