This is one of those instances where I can't believe the draft media missed so bad on this kid. All you read about was very accurate kicker in college but doesn't have plus leg strength. Um, yeah he does.

He was the consensus top kicker and I think the first one taken. I think he’s shown enough in camp to have earned a lot of patience from the team. Ba…what am I talking about…Zim’s no longer here.

That's quite impressive. I think 69-70 yards after re-watching that X video several times.

He's a cold blooded banger. Told Daniels the special teams coach this week, 'That wasn't good enough' and did it again. And again. He's got his own very high personal bar for kicking. He played at Alabama, where is there more pressure?
Two old, morose narratives moving forward are going to change because of this Draft with Viking Nation: clutch play by a QB (McCarthy) and by a kicker (Reichard).

Lets see what he does when the game is on the line and there are special teamers rushing him with one goal in mind and that is to disrupt the kick. Kicking in the NFL is a different ballgame than kicking in college that's why teams seem reluctant to rely on a rookie kicker.

From what I can tell, this kid is built different. Doesn't get too high or too low. The Vikings special teams coach (Daniels) said it's hard to tell if he's in a good mood or bad mood because he has the same demeanor every day.

Yah, I also felt this draft could be incredibly impactful...
Circa 2027:
SoFi Stadium
2/14/27
SB LXI
Vikings vs Bengals
4th quarter, 1.5 minutes to go
Vikings trail the Bengals 20/26...
Turner strip sacks Burrows
Recovery by Phillips at the Vikings 48 yd line
JJ hits JJ for the tying touch-down with 8 seconds to go
Reichard hits the point after for the go ahead
Vikings 27/Bengals 26
I guy can dream right??
Ok, gotta go wash the convertible now...back to reality
