GB "Feels the Love" for 4 more years...

...reportedly for $220 million, from an early report this morning.

55 million per season, and he's basically had...half of a good season? Maybe a bit more? Pretty mediocre out of the gate.

Boggles the mind.

Boggles the mind to say the least. Is this what 8 good games in a row gets you?

He's being paid for potential, not 1/2 a season

They didnt have a choice , he wasn't going to be signed for less than Tua or some of the other recent QB signings.

You are welcome @MB

Just crazy money being tossed around. I read somewhere that Marino's total earnings from Miami for his career was 51 million dollars. Tua's annual yearly salary from the Dolphins is now 53 million dollars lol.

Outside of their own fan base, its not even big news anymore when these guys sign...

Herbert's coming off of a disastrous season, still got a massive raise. Burrow can't start a season healthy, Allen can't keep from bonehead plays, Love has half of a good season, Goff is returning after years of mediocrity, Tua is infamously fragile...all earning insane money.

Wow.

Sure it's crazy, but like everything else it's all relative. Think about this: my parents bought their house in 1963 for $12,000. Terms were $150 down and paint your way in. Two years ago I sold my rental in Denver, a much smaller house, for $945,000.

The Wilfs bought the Vikings in 2005 for $600M. Vikings estimated value right now is $4.65B.

Don't know what annual NFL revenue was when Marino played, but in 2001 it was $4B. It's now roughly $20B. Guessing when Marino played in the 80s and 90s it was well under a billion. NFL projects revenue to be $25B by 2027.

The percentage of the cap is what is the alarming part. And you need that QB you are paying $50+ million to hit hard. Tua? Love? Interesting times for sure.

With Tua and Burrow, I'd want money in a VERY solid backup...as both have shown to be pretty fragile.

If they keep adding games, the roster count is gonna be over 70, and you'll need at least 2 full sets of starting offensive skill players.
