I would think this pretty much solidifies they stay put @ 3 for a QB.

A 6th rd pick for compensation. Wonder if they got a pack of chewing gum too.

Looking back at that draft class now? Sure underscores how drafting a QB is damn near a crap-shoot.

And exactly the reason I'd never "sell the farm" to move up and take a swing at one. Especially with this front offices track record. Too big of a bust rate and the possibility of multiplying that misery by mortgaging our draft future would be a terrible idea.

I actually thought Jones would be a good acquisition for us provided we were able to re-sign Cousins. Strange acquisition for the Jags

Its is a head-scratcher for me too re: Jags.

They are about to write Lawrence a big, fat check and they trade for Jones??? Probably not much left on his rookie deal either.

Maybe. But I wouldn't say that necessarily. I think they had to deal Jones no matter what they do at QB in free agency or the draft.

For the Jags, I'd say this is a move to get more youth and upside at QB2.

Alright the Jags got their man, now maybe they’ll trade us Trevor.
