How freaky was that?

Torn Achilles jogging off the sideline?!

 WTF?

For sure they'll lose him for the first couple mos of 24, maybe more.

that game was played on grass,  IIRC they roll that in and out like AZ.  but it wasnt at all on the field condition, he was jumping up and down and then tried to sprint out as he landed,  I am guessing he tried accelerating while his weight was still coming down and ....POP!

I wonder how much of an effect this had on the outcome of the game.  What was his role and how much of a drop off was there ro his backup and were the chiefs capitalizing on it?

The achilles has got to be the most bizarre injury in sports. Doesn't ever seem to be something you can point to as the reason for it. Rodgers, Cousins, Greenlaw suffer massive injuries after putting about as much stress on their achilles as we do getting up from the couch.

I'm guessing it's likely not the actual moment that the damage occurs,   it's likely just the point that it fails.

I remember watching KC starting to limp around Lamblow and thinking WTF? Nobody touched him and his foot didnt get caught in anything.

Same with Rogers, I actually felt badly for the Jets fans when that happened. All the hype - like when Favre joined the Vikings and the guy plays 3 plays.

Thats a big kick in the nads.

3 high profile achilles this season seems out of the ordinary. I dont know what you can do to avoid these.

I guess that might be true. But if so, don't you just take them out when the damage occurs? Like a tricky hammy? Or does the player not even feel the damage? Because I don't know that I've ever heard of an achilles wearing down or becoming bothersome for a player before they rupture. They just seem to snap for no reason.
