Any DL worthy of that 9-12 slot?

Just thinking out loud.

Probably not a DT quite that high, but if one were to it would probably be Jer'Zhan Newton. DE you could look toward Laiatu Latu going that high or higher. Lots of edge guys could go Round 1, but mid to latter part.

I'm thinking edge rusher would be the pick if it's not quarterback. The only guy we have under contract for next season is Pat Jones. Hunter, Wonnum and Davenport all free agents

I was thinking it may be better to trade that pick to the Lions.

Newton is less than 300 pounds which is a concern. But, he might provide some pass rush from the DT position which we sorely need.

Andre Carter is also under contract. He needs to spend this off season in the weight room before he can be counted on to contribute.

Agree, edge is the top non-QB need on the team.

Agree with edge being a big need, somebody to create pressure.

Right now thinking about who may be gone due to free agency or being cut, who had the bigger impact this season Dean Lowery or Marcus Davenport?

He's a pass rushing DT 3-technique for sure, no NT. Very, very active. A disruptor. Big burst. High energy. But yep a bump on him would be his size.

Would love to see them pass on signing Kirk (draft QB 1st) and use that $30 million on a combination of a DE and DT.  Young and Tart?  Leonard Williams and Christian Wilkins?  DJ Reader and Calais Campbell?

2 guys for the front, bring back Hunter, see what you can get out of Carter and a mid round pick.  Move on from Bullard and Lowry

We need DL pressure period.
