Vikings wanted Purdy

Could have had him. Just like any other team using any pick before the last of the entire Draft. But he wouldn't have gotten a shot to play and he wouldn't be playing on a team as talented.

And would we have given him the opportunity to show what he could do? Would the 49ers if Jimmy G doesn't get hurt? This sort of thing always makes me wonder. For example, would Kurt Warner end up being Kurt Warner without Trent Green getting hurt? The Rams clearly weren't aware of it considering his spot on the depth chart.

I think NFL Europe REALLY helped Kurt Warner.

I don’t think anyone can realistically say that they wanted
Purdy.  Every team had multiple opportunities
to pick him and didn’t.  If you like him but
only as an UDFA, how much do you really like him?

Not sure I understand what you mean. The Vikings likely had him graded as a UDFA and so weren't going to draft him. Hell, even the 49ers weren't blown away by him enough to take him with one of their three 6th rounders.

"Purdy told ESPN last week he was considering the 49ers, Houston Texans and Vikings if he had gone undrafted," so they clearly had conversations. And if he weren't taken with that last pick, the Vikings may have gotten him, considering how much they typically outbid other teams on UDFAs. But again, would he even still be on the roster? That's probably the better question.

Better than someone you don't offer an UDFA contract to?

SF had 3 picks in that 7th round & past on him twice.

3 picks in the 6th round, but the point stands.

I guess what I’m saying, which is probably the same as what
you are saying, is that no one should get credit for “liking” a good player when
the cost to get them was almost nothing.
Every single team drafted multiple players that are busting as we speak
and they chose those turds over Purdy.  The
correct way to phrase the tweet, would be that “The Vikings liked Purdy less than
some turds that are struggling to make the team”
