or just get out of the way and let a real football person run the team.  Zygi catches shit,  but isnt it Mark that is the head of football operations for Zygi?

Bingo. The only times this team has been really good under the Wilfs was the miracle year with Favre because Childress had been a train wreck up until that point, then the fools decided to extend Childress based on the Favre year....only to fire him the very next season! Then they made a good decision to hire a football man with a scouting/personnel background in Spielman, who hired Zimmer, and we built the roster and went on a run where we had a legit Super Bowl window for four or five years, which is really all you can ask for in today's NFL. Unfortunately due to injuries and other circumstances we were unable to cash in on that window. I firmly believe (and evidence is there) that the Wilfs were more interested in making the "diversity hire" likely at the behast of the Commisioner on this last round instead of just hiring the best and most qualified candidate for the job. Now we are where we are with a green GM with almost zero real football or personnel experience making the calls and an ownership group levying competitive mandates and thinking we are perennial Super Bowl contenders every season when we aren't even close. It's a shit sandwich folks and we are all unfortunately along for the ride

Since this team was founded it has employed GMs with personnel experience & our trophy case overflowing with Lombardi's is proof positive of just how well that strategy has worked.
I'm totally down with giving the "diversity hire" an opportunity to win us our first Lombardi. Try something different. Try anything different. What's the definition of Insanity?

I mean let's be honest, this organization was hindered by penny pinching owners for years who went cheap on the scouting department, facilities, mamagement, coaches, you name it. That played a large part in the empty Lombardi case. I give the Wilfs huge credit in that regard, but that doesn't mean go out and hire a guy with zero experience for the job you are hiring him for just to check a diversity box. I would say that is the definition of insanity...

With KAM,  we'll all be shaking in our boots on draft day if we have a top 10 pick.

Don't worry, we've got Grigson to advise him on who to pick  Confused

Dump the notion that a competitive rebuild will work. Replace KOC with Flores, and find a GM with some previous experience at player evaluation.

if we replace a white guy with a black guy  from our own stable, do we still get a compensatory pick???
